Spring is a wonderful time of year, temperatures are starting to climb, snow disappears, and plants show signs of new life. It is also a time when seasonal allergens peak.
Your home should be a safe haven from airborne and seasonal allergens, but allergens are really good at invading. Thus, making your house of workplace as uncomfortable as being outdoors.
If seasonal allergies or asthma are an issue for your family, there are solutions.
– Replace air filters regularly (and more frequently during allergy season)
– Upgrade to a larger, more efficient filter
– Install a HEPA filter system in conjunction with existing filter
– install a UV bulb in the return air duct
– manage humidity issues – over 60% humidity benefits from a dehumidifier

Other helpful ways to reduce allergens in the home is to not wear outdoor shoes indoors; vacuum more frequently; remove carpets from home; replace curtains with blinds, shades or machine washable curtains and wash frequently; install exhaust fans vented outdoors.

If you have a duct free home, there are still solutions available. Mobile air purifiers will help relieve allergen issues too.
